Our bivvy selection is below. Here is a short guide to buying a bivvy.
- Set your budget. By now you have seen a few bivvies and have a vague idea of price. Remember your budget may be determined by how often the bivvy will be used.
- Brand. You want to buy into the best brand that you can afford. They tend to have the better after sales service and gaurantees, but not in all cases.
- Size. Just for you? Or room for two? Do you plan to take someone else fishing? Or maybe you want the extra room yourself.
- Weight and Setting up time. If you have a barrow and plan to spend a week in the same swim then weight and set up is not much of an issue, but if your stalking into different swims, you may consider a lighter model with quick set.
- Bivvy and Wrap. The bivvy its self may be enough when its warmer. But you will probably need 2 skins during the colder wetter seasons.
- Style. Pram hood - Peaked at the front, they help keep the wet out. Brolley type - fairly easy to put up and ideal for short sessions. Dome - the tent like design sometimes with a porch is strong and a proven shape. Popup - quick setup design, ideal for stalking.
This is just a guide, but it may mention something that you had not considered before. Don't choose a bivvy thats based on somebody else's needs. Figure out what your needs are, then buy the correct bivvy to your style of fishing.
